----------------------------------------------------------- From: _SQL_Vinod_ Message 3 in Discussion Hi Balaji, There are numerous reasons why a query call from an application can timeout. Firstly, do you recieve a timeout error when executing the SP from teh Query analyzer window? Does the query take lots of time ... If yes, then you need to check out which are the statements that are consuming large amount of time. Use SQL Server Profiler for this activity. Moreover, understand its very difficult to outline all the tuning techniques on one post. Here is a article I posted on my site sometime back on best practices. Check out if you the points outlined. http://www.extremeexperts.com/sql/articles/BestPractices.aspx HTH, Vinod Kumar MVP - SQL Server www.ExtremeExperts.com ----------------------------------------------------------- To stop getting this e-mail, or change how often it arrives, go to your E-mail Settings. http://groups.msn.com/bdotnet/_emailsettings.msnw Need help?
