Dear Zapper Zoom, U can easily learn .NET , no issues. Since u say , u have
knowledge of C++ and ASP, learning VB.NET and ASP.NET should not b a problem at all.
Regarding Softwares 1) U could get a hold of the .NET Framework SDK via
Microsoft.com download center. 2) U must have the following Sys Requirements
Windows 2000(any flavour),Windows XP Professional or Windows 2003. I.E 6.0
MDAC 2.7 or higher for Data Access SQL Server or MSDE 8.0 for Database
Interaction Visual Studio.NET 2003 (Professional,Enterprise Developer or
Enterprise Architect) And for the Hardware a Good Pentium Class machine , with
atleast 128 DDR Ram or higher and a 40 GB HDD.
#3) for training to get u started off would be to visit
http://www.microsoft.com/seminar
and learn from the experts (Choose between Level 100,200 or 300 sessions)
And which language to start off.
Personally , I prefer VB.NET as it is easy and very Adaptive in your case as u r
familar with ASP.
(But the choice is entirey upto you , as MS has made it possible to write code in upto
20 languages.)
If u need any further help, dont hesistate to contact me on any issue.
Let me know , if u r up and running after these steps.
Best Regards
