Hi Ravi, Whenever you use Image object to load from image file you have to free the
all the unmanaged resources used by this object by calling Dispose(). If you set
this reference to 'nothing' (or 'null' in C#) it will just mark the object to be
collected by GC. The object's Finalized method will not be called since object's
pointer doesn't exist in the finalization queue and hence the File handle is not
freed. Here is another way to do this (without making a copy of this image).
private void button3_Click(object sender, System.EventArgs e)
{
//File handle is not freed when you set the image to null.
//pictureBox1.Image = null;
//Dispose the image to free the file handle.
if(pictureBox1.Image != null)
pictureBox1.Image.Dispose();
try
{
//Open or create file
FileStream fs = new FileStream(imgPath, FileMode.OpenOrCreate, FileAccess.Write);
//create image
//Close filestream
fs.Close();
fs = null;
}
catch(Exception exp)
{
MessageBox.Show(exp.StackTrace);
}
pictureBox1.Image = Image.FromFile(imgPath);
