  Hi,
 This will depend on your programming background. I mean, what were you doing earlier 
to joining the .NET bandwagon.
If you are into Visual Basic then it will be very easy for you to shift to VB .NET as 
most of the syntax and programming style is the same. On the other hand, if you are 
from Java or Systems background, then C# will be the right choice for you,   I don't 
thing learning any of the two will create a problem with anyone. But personally 
according to me, VB .NET learning path is easier then C#.   Regarding the market, the 
swing is definitely towards C# as all the new entrants have gone for C# compared to VB 
.NET.
Microsoft is also giving more stress on C# as it is a new language which requires some 
push from there side.   But in the end it is your skills that matter the most. So you 
have to decide, the language, the technology, master it, and then let the  companies 
evaluate you on their scale for quality.
