----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on BDOTNET
----------------------------------------------------------- From: GLPrasad Message 2 in Discussion Hi Kalyan, Since you are working in a web project, you need to keep the client as light as possible. If you are going to load the browser with one lakh records, then determine what the load would be on the client machine. The machine needs to have the capacity to handle such a huge load. You can cache the dataset by using the xml format of dataset and even bind it to controls dynamically, but then you would have to evaluvate the pros and cons before you take such a decision. If you are sure that your client machines are powerful, you can share the load on the browser. You may look at using XMLHTTP Post and Data Islands to work on the browser which demands, xml parser to be installed on the clients. The best way would be to reduce the data being retrieved to the database itself. That would reduce your burden on the server and the client. Take a call based on your environment!
