Hi Vidhya,   Try considering this approach.   Have a Table called SequenceNumber with 
the fields, in your case RegionID and LastGeneratedSeqNo.  If there is row for the 
RegionID you are trying to Insert, then insert a row in the SequenceNumber table.  On 
further inserts of the Region and Product code, just update the row pertaining to the 
Region.   Be careful that you would have to do the updates and inserts for the 
Sequence Number table with a transaction surrounding it, to avoid concurrency 
problems.   Do let me know if this would solve your problem   Regards, Prasad G L
