----------------------------------------------------------- From: GLPrasad Message 2 in Discussion Hi Vidhya, Try considering this approach. Have a Table called SequenceNumber with the fields, in your case RegionID and LastGeneratedSeqNo. If there is row for the RegionID you are trying to Insert, then insert a row in the SequenceNumber table. On further inserts of the Region and Product code, just update the row pertaining to the Region. Be careful that you would have to do the updates and inserts for the Sequence Number table with a transaction surrounding it, to avoid concurrency problems. Do let me know if this would solve your problem Regards, Prasad G L ----------------------------------------------------------- To stop getting this e-mail, or change how often it arrives, go to your E-mail Settings. http://groups.msn.com/bdotnet/_emailsettings.msnw Need help?
