Anyways thanks for your valueable link. Meanwhile I tried the same by creating the dataadapter, connection objects on the form where I had an instance of crystal report. Anyway, the xsd is created if dataset is generated. With this I was able to get over the problem. I took a wrong path: I created the xsd file myself for the two tables and I guess this did not match with xsd created by the connection string object having a query with join condition. Thus throwing an exception and promting the user for server, database and logon information.
