To be simple enough

There will be three layers

Mutiple windows application
Single remote server
Multiple web browsers

For every chat a unique xml file will be created in the remote server. After that both
the windows application and the web browser need to read/update that particular file.

Say a user x using a a windows application starts a chat with user y who is using a
web browser. For this chat instance a XML file will be created for this chat alone and
will be read/updated as the users share messages.

Communication between windows application and remote server could be through either
web services or .net remoting.

Communication between web browser and remote server would be through web servcices
with aid of javascript.

This solution can be more expanded according to needs.

Thanks,
Jagan Mohan
