Hi guys,

I had a query on DTS. This is for a intranet based application.

User will input the file path of a text file in a text box in a web application. Then
he clicks on the button "Import", which calls a stored procedure, which in turn runs a
Sql Server DTS.

DTS imports data from this text file into the sql server table.

Problem here is that, the DTS fails to access the text file if user inputs network
share path like "\\160.20.30.234\ImportShare\Inputfile1.txt". This happens only when
the DTS is called via stored procedure. If the same DTS is run from DTS Designer, it
runs properly.

It works if a path like "C:\ImportShare\Inputfile1.txt" is inputted. But this
requires that the file to reside on the sql server C drive.

Can you please guide me how to make this DTS work when called via stored procedure
with network share path as input.

Regards

H A Pavan
