Hi Group, I am about to desgin an small test web application , which is database
independant. ie, it should work with SQL server, MySql, Oracle and any other DB. My
previous appliction was with Sql Server and in my DataBaseAccess class(class which
does all the DB opeartions), i imported the SQl Server namespace
(System.Data.SqlClient) and the code was according to that(ie using SqlDataAdapter,
and SqlCommand). My Queries are : 1. What knid of design we should make to go around
with multiple databases. 2. How do my code in the DataBaseAccess Class change accoding
to the currently used DB.(ie SqlDatatAdapte , or OledDataAdapter) 3. Is it possible
from the connection string to know, to which typ e of DB should the system use. 4.Are
there any custom classes for this kind of operation,ie whether the Data Appication
blocks will support this.. 5. Can i use Stored Procedures for this or just ANSI SQL is
better??? Regards, Dinesh.
