You can use the system stored procedure called "sp_server_info" which will various 
information of the SQL server. calling this stored procedure with a parameter as 2 
will return the DBMS_VER attribute of the SQL server which will tell you what service 
pack is applied.    for e.g.   sp_server info 2   result:   attribute_id
