Hi, The way sampath is saying, you can convert the values   1. Add a new varchar 
column to your table. 2. Now write a procedure to convert the values from float to 
varchar and store the values in this column. 3. Delete the values from your float 
column and change the datatype. 4. Transfer the values from added column to original 
column and drop the added column.   --Nitin
