Additionally you can also check the new P&P on Performance and Scalability at

If you are looking out for tools for performance measurement analysis tools --
Profiling Tools, I Would suggest, 1. DevProfiler from Compuware, this instantly
integrates with your VS.NET IDE. This is a cool profiler, which profiles as you
debug/start your application, and gives out the details like Top20 Slow Methods, with
the time taken to execute each line of your code.... You also can create a call graph
dynamically which is very useful while breaking your heads on what leads to what....
moreover this is absolutely FREE ! 2. ANTS Profiler, this is also another impressive
profiler does the same as described above, but this is a stand alone app and is a
shareware. but more cleaner and simple to use... 3. If you need much more details
like histograms on you heap, GC Allocations then the choice is CLR Profiler. The
above tools can be easily spotted,... just google it :-) Let me know if you find
anything else that's interesting....but i can bet these profilers are really time
savers. you can combine this with your windows task manager, believe me task manager
is impressive, just dump the MEMUsage column in the task manager, instead enable VM
Size, Paged Pool, NP Pool,Page Faults, Threads... you will see more/unknown faces of
your application :-) Enjoy! :-) -- Logu
