a delegate is used to access a function without having to directly call the function
by name. it is similar to an interface/class relationship where you can access the
methods, properties of a class via the interface (learnt that at the last UG session).
  so for eg if you have a function as below, string myfn(int i, str s){//do something}
  then you could create a delegate like this, public delegate string mydlg(int i, str
s); //match the delegate signature with that of the function(s) used. to use this
delegate create an instance of it as below, mydlg objmydlg = new objmydlg(myfn);
//pass the function(s) name to be used. finally u use the delegate like this,
objmydlg(16, 'sweet'); the advantage here is that the method calling the delegate
does so without knowing which function is actually used. this forms a layer of
abstraction. again if the signature doesnt match then a compile time error is thrown
which is easy to debug. And finally you can use delegates for async calls [although i
havent done one yet :( ] bye rsb
