You don't have to install the Visual Studio.net on the appliction machine only 
Framework has to be installed on the machine to run the .NET Exe.
Exe needs a runtime engine to run on particular machine e.g. running a vb exe u need 
to have Msvbvm.dll

Hi,
i have created exe file using .net visul studio,
i am trying to run it on different  machine which does not have .net installed
, when i run the .exe file the machine asks  for .net framework to be installed why 
does it ask?
i thoguht exe files should be able to run anywhere since they are execultable files 
right?
please let me know why this problem occurs and how to solve
one obvious solution is to install visual on that machine.....
is there any other solutiuon???
The .net gurus please provide answer for this...(asap)
