Try following code :

HttpWebRequest myRequest =
(HttpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create(http://localhost/TestSite/test.aspx);
myRequest.ContentType = "text/html";
myRequest.Method =
"POST";
myRequest.ContentType =
"application/x-www-form-urlencoded";
HttpWebResponse myWebResponse = (HttpWebResponse)
myRequest.GetResponse() ;

Hi,

I am having a text box and a button. If the
                user enters the URL and click the button I will open a new
                window with the URL entered.
My requirement is if the
                entered URL does not exist then I should not open the window I
                have to give the alert message. How to do this using Javascript
                or using ASP.Net (VB.Net)

Thanks &
      Regards
Madan
