there r 2 ways to do this: 1.
TemplateColumn col1 = new TemplateColumn();
col1.ItemTemplate =LoadTemplate("ItemTemplate.ascx");

this uses a static user control that defines the itemtemplate 2. implement
ITemplate interface and class MyTemplate:Itemplate { implement instatiatein() }

col1.HeaderText="Header";
