Fundamentally stored procedures has no return type were function returns values. 
Functions can return a scalar value or can return a table of records. Functions can be 
used in Select statements and in Where, From, Inline while Stored procedures cannot 
be. These are some of the differences. Refer to SQL Server BOL for further
