----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on BDOTNET
----------------------------------------------------------- From: venky_Raj Message 1 in Discussion Our application is built on windows DNA 3-tier Architecture. The Client layer is Windows forms (VB.NET) and we are using COM+ for distributed computing. The client application uses the proxies that are created out of the VB.Net Serviced Components installed on Server machine. Thus the client side involves COM-.NET interop, as the call shall be propagated to COM+ Server on other end via DCOM. We have been facing a severe performance hit when we retrieve a dataset of 15000 records. It takes more than 15 seconds to load the dataset in client. When I changed the object as library application (in-proc) it takes only .5 second. I'm really surprised why there is so much of difference in response time in COM+ server application compared with library application. Is it the expected behaviour of COM+? Can anyone help me to overcome this problem? It would be really great if you could send me the links with relevant information. ----------------------------------------------------------- To stop getting this e-mail, or change how often it arrives, go to your E-mail Settings. http://groups.msn.com/bdotnet/_emailsettings.msnw Need help?
