----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on BDOTNET
----------------------------------------------------------- From: TheRealCyberJessy Message 1 in Discussion Hello We would like to hear from people who have used O/R Mappers and other Object Persistence Tools (custom built or something like Gentle.Net) in their projects. What has been your success in terms of time saved? Where did you feel constrained when using automatic code-generation for object storage and retrieval? What technique did you use to merge back source code if you are regenerating? (Personally I use WinMerge). We are planning to release most of our source code (called everGreen) in a GotDotNet workspace within two weeks. The software contains core everGreen libraries and a code-generator, which can create most of the layers required to acquire and manipulate an object (say BankAccount). For example it creates Sql scripts for creating DbTables, Stored Procs, C# DataLayer, C# Business Logic Layer, Remoting Interface, Web Services Layer and some components for COM+ support. All automatically. I will post again soon to announce the release of the software in GotDotNet. We are releasing under a very un-restricted license, which means you can use it for commercial purposes too without being free yourself.
