----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on BDOTNET
----------------------------------------------------------- From: BanupriyaVelmurugan Message 8 in Discussion Hi 1. Where the dataset will be stored when we retrieve the data from the database? In the client machine or in the server where the dot net application is running (IIS)? Note: Concider that both the machines are a seperate unit. 2. When more than one user is accessing the same data using the dataset, what will happen? Whether the dataset is created as common for all the users or created seperately for each and every users? 3. Also please say what will be the process behind when we do updations on the dataset? 4. At present we use the ASP version of our product that retrieves the data from the database and displays to the user for manipulations. (Now we are in a plan of shifting the product to run under a dot net platform.). But the requirement raises to around 10000 records to retrieve for the manipulations. Actually the database contains more than 1,800,000 records. Can a dataset handles this much of record at a time(i.e. has the capability to fetch this much of record - 1800,000 - atonce)? Thanx for your reply.
