trying using excel as database .... open connection to excel, read/ write
data into it, and close the connection. works great !

hi  as Thepelicanbrief2 says it will lead to some issues like the excel
object not closing..... even some MSDN articles says Excel is not to be used
with an ASP.net application. bcos Excel is a windows app and ur trying to
use advanced functionality objects of a windows onto a web app....   if the
one ur needing is just to write data to an excel file then i can suggest you
some means of doin it   Bye Kannan.V
