----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on BDOTNET
----------------------------------------------------------- From: Mrinal Message 2 in Discussion Hi Balaji , First of all i am sorry for being late , i just logged into the groups right now , ok regarding your queries : 1. As far as database avilability is concerned , i thought the best way will be to try establish a connection using standard connection string or probably getting values at runtime and in case it doesn't throws exception , return value can be true else false . -- Let me chek if i can find a better way than this . 2. For checking the avilability of a service on a remote machine you need to use the service controller class only and figure it out , few days back sarvana answered a similar query , essentially this will work on similar concept as above , in case exception is not thrown , then it will return true else false . 3. Sql Server Agent - i am not very sure what to use , lemme check and get back to u . 4. Regarding ur last part i.e scheduling a service , i am not very sure that i understood it , but in case ur service has once being started , then you needn't check for it in intervals , until and unless you have explicitly stopped it . hope it helps , i will get back with the remaining as soon as possible , regards , Mrinal ----------------------------------------------------------- To stop getting this e-mail, or change how often it arrives, go to your E-mail Settings. http://groups.msn.com/bdotnet/_emailsettings.msnw Need help?
