The following is to work in QUERY ANALYZER
There are 2 ways to get the remote tables
Consider Table scroll(id,scroll_text)
1. Using LINKED SERVER
insert into scroll (id,scroll_text)
select id,scroll_text from openquery('Remote Server', Query)
2. In Direct
insert into scroll (id,scroll_text)
select id,scroll_text from openrowset('MSDASQL','Driver={SQL
server};Server=ServerName;Database=DatabaseName;uid=Username;pwd=pwd',Databasename.username.table
name)
insert into scroll (id,scroll_text)
select id,scroll_text from opendatasource('MSDASQL','Driver={SQL
server};Server=ServerName;Database=DatabaseName;uid=Username;pwd=pwd').Databasename.username.tabl
ename
