Hi , This should help you upto some extent , this is the way we do the stress
testing of odp.net in oracle , essentially it's done using windows utility
developed inhouse in c# , Concept goes like this : 1. It's a multithreaded
client . 2. It creates a System.Threading.Thread class array with specific
number of instances / users that you want to load your application with . 3.
Each thread is being assigned a method a execute and it could be different or
same logic depending on your need , it will keep on executing it till it exits
. 4. All threads can be initiated in a loop . 5. They act like multiple
concurrent users using your application . You can always assign timeperiod
and various other properties to a thread to ensure that , for how much time
that load will be exerted on your Application . You can use perfmon to
analyze system parameters like memory , handles etc . for some kind of leak .
You need to understand the threading model in .Net to implement some such
client . I would prefer to go only with windows based testing as it incurs
more load w.r.t to a web client , in any case for a web client your web server
receiving the requests will take care of synchronizing the requests , then it's
all about how your application manages concurrent requests . Also other web
related things like Network timeout etc. are something that you can't take care
in your application upto a large extent except assigning a wait time for the
connected user and after which resources for that user will be released and
reallocated . I hope it helps , regards , Mrinal
