----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on BDOTNET
----------------------------------------------------------- From: AnupPS Message 6 in Discussion Hi, I have attached the code with this. I faced the same problem and Basically I got 3 ways to do that. --> One was by exporting a Crystal Report to Excel. That made the excel report look like a kind of junk. I have not attached its code. --> The other one is to export a grid to excel. Simple but inefficient one. Actually it automatically converted some cells into date format when I required format like XX-XX-XX. Its an excel problem. There can be some improvement in this code by adding type-tags, but didnt try it much. --> The third one was tedious but was guaranteed to work proper. I converted the excel file to htm file, and studied its html carefully. Took the important html part and integrated in my webform using ASP style coding. I have shown code for this. The strOut first part is very long and is the header with all the classes. I suggest to use XML instead of html. That would be more proper. To understand how is xml format written, simply save the excel file in xml format using saveas option. This is really helpful to me and I use it to generate most of the documents (excel or word). I hope this will help you out.
