----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on BDOTNET
----------------------------------------------------------- From: Mrinal Message 9 in Discussion Hi , Reason for ORA-12541 - is pretty simple and straight forward , essentially the machine and port that you are specifying via TNS Alias is not having a Lsitener running on it . Do this to check it : 1. tnsping <tnsalias> and see if it connects . 2. You can even try pinging the remote server , but even if it's up , Listener should be running on a given port . 3. If all the above stuff is successful , then try connecting through Sqlplus.exe : Sqlplus <Username>/<Password>@TnsAlias and if this also works then there's no reason why your code won't work , but make sure that tnanames.ora and sqlnet.ora are in %TNS_ADMIN% location . Hope it helps , Mrinal ----------------------------------------------------------- To stop getting this e-mail, or change how often it arrives, go to your E-mail Settings. http://groups.msn.com/bdotnet/_emailsettings.msnw Need help?
