Hey Folks!   If you are all talking about sending SMS or MMS, you all would 
have to connect through the operator's SMSC. I believe some allow the sending 
of SMS through SMTP, but I believe it is dependant on the target's operator. 
The most you all can do from an ASP.NET server side is to send email, or format 
a request and send it off to the operator. 

Even if you all do know the user's mobile number (can be forwarded by the WAP 
gateway in a header, but usually gateways have this option turned off for 
security reasons), you all cannot reach the user without going through the 
operator's network. It would be possible to send your own OTA messages if you 
had an SMS modem or mobile phone hooked into your server.
