Hi,   .Net Validation Controls validate information on the clientside as well 
as server side, In your case the information is getting validated on the 
serverside and displaying the message.    To check if all the data is valid on 
a .aspx page, the page class exposes a  isPageValid property check this 
property on your postback event before performaning any DB operations.    Happy
