Hi, If its still not solved, here is one more thing you can do... It seems like 
you select query is missing the key column information, i.e the PK in the table 
you are trying to update. include the pk column also in the select list and 
try.    
Dim oDataAdapter As New OracleDataAdapter("select ECUFAMILY,MEMDEF,MEMTYPE from 
MEMDEF", oConn) 
if you include the key column information and use the CommandBuilder, you dont 
have the create all insert, update and delete commands... 
Here is how you can use command builder...Dim cn As SqlConnection Dim da As 
SqlDataAdapter Dim cb As SqlCommandBuilder cn = New SqlConnection("data 
source=demoserver…") da = New SqlDataAdapter("SELECT Au_ID, au_lname, City 
FROM authors", cn) cb = New SqlCommandBuilder(da)        ' Build new 
CommandBuilder and then get the commands likecb.GetUpdateCommand   Thanks Vivek
