Hi ,   There could be many ways for you to check that , including File class in 
system.IO if file is on a local drive , beacuse in any case if file doesn't 
exists it can be caught in FileNotFoundException .    For any other remote 
location try executing download code and if it fails it will be caught in above 
mentioned exception ad you can handle it appropriately .   Otherwise another 
way could be to use Publisher - Subscriber model and take a Asynchronous call 
to the location to check file's existence and moment a new file comes in or 
gets created it will notify the client , so in that case you need to go the 
first way of handling exception .   Simple delegates can be used to implement 
asynchronous handling mechanism .   hope this helps ,   Mrinal .
