Hi ,   I am sorry for bit late reply , but this is what i think :   I had 
specifically mentioned creating view in Sql server as a possible work around , 
as it's definitely not the same thing as synonyms in Oracle , which are nothing 
but an alias or second name for db objects for easy access in queries or to 
other users instead of using the standard format of <Username>.<Object> 
everytime and when ever we use Syninyms essentially we are directly accessing 
the object , which if a table can have constraints being added or removed .   
On the other hand Views are just the Readonly filtered portion of the Table , 
which can't be modified , but the fact remains that you can actually create 
constraints or remove them from base object and refresh the view to get the 
latest update .   Otherwise , i think there must be some alias like thing that 
might me existing in sql server too to serve the same function , lemme check 
out and i will get back to u .   thanks ,   Mrinal
