With ADO.NET you have a couple different options to get at Access data.
The first is through the Managed Provider for OLEDB. The other option is to use
the Managed ODBC Provider
(which is not shipped with the .NET framework, but available as a separate
download), and the Microsoft Jet ODBC Driver.
As you can see, with both of these you have to go through:
1. A managed provider (in these cases either OLEDB or ODBC)
2. A "native" code component... either the OLEDB provider or the ODBC
driver, respectively. If you are using the System.Data.SqlClient
classes, then you have chosen to
use the SQL managed provider. This means that you will connect to the
Access data source through the SQL provider. As DSN's are a
concept unique to ODBC, they are not relevant to SQL connections. Please have
