Hi,

We too have the same problem frequently. 

First we use

BACKUP LOG { database_name | @database_name_var } 
{ 
    [ WITH 
        { NO_LOG | TRUNCATE_ONLY } ] 
}

and then the dbcc shrinkfile

DBCC SHRINKFILE 
    ( { file_name | file_id } 
        { [ , target_size ] 
            | [ , { EMPTYFILE | NOTRUNCATE | TRUNCATEONLY } ] 
        }
    )


We have created a procedure and then put it in a job, which takes care
of running these commands regularly.

A good amount of help about these commmands can be fould in
SQL-SERver-books online
