----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on BDOTNET
----------------------------------------------------------- From: sumanmukherjee Message 1 in Discussion Hi All, My current application involves tracking of opened mails in a email application. Initially I used to do it by web beacons, embedding an image which was rendered from the webserver and embedding various tracking parameters into the call , something likme <img src="http://mywebsite.com/showImage.asp?id=23> and the showImage.asp renders a spacer into the email body thus tracking my mails opened. But XP service pack 2 MS Outlook was blocking the images , so had to embedded the image , thus this process could not be done. Now we are calling the image from the <td background="http://mywebsite.com/showImage.asp?id=23"> , by that the image blocker of XP was removed but now the open mails are not beign tracked in XP . If there is any standard way of tracking the opened mails that works on XP too. Some starndard email marketing software like www.readnotify.com does track opened mails and that works perfectly in XP and it tracks to the extent of number of times the mail was opende and total reading time and location where the mail was opened quite accurately. I am on the lookout for an idea or a lead, as to how to implement this requirement. Thanks in advance . Suman. ----------------------------------------------------------- To stop getting this e-mail, or change how often it arrives, go to your E-mail Settings. http://groups.msn.com/BDOTNET/_emailsettings.msnw Need help?
