Hi!

This below code will be useful for merging or two columns just as u shown in
the figure.... here

Announcements (Main Header)

Subject | Description (Sub Headers)

The same code you have to use with RowCreated when using GridView, in case of
the data Gird the same as below will be OK

protected void Datagrid1_ItemCreated(object sender,
System.Web.UI.WebControls.DataGridItemEventArgs e)
    {
        if (e.Item.ItemType == ListItemType.Header)
        {
            e.Item.Cells.RemoveAt(2);
            e.Item.Cells[1].ColumnSpan = 2;
            e.Item.Cells[1].Text = "<table style='FONT-WEIGHT: bold; WIDTH:" +
                                   " 100%; COLOR: white; TEXT-ALIGN:
center'><tr align"
+
                                   " =center><td colspan = 2
style='BORDER-BOTTOM:" +
                                   " cccccc 1pt solid'>Announcements</td></tr>"
+
                                   "<tr align =center ><td style
='BORDER-RIGHT:"
+
                                   " cccccc 1pt solid'>Subject</td><td>" +
                                   " Description</td></tr></table>";
            e.Item.Cells.RemoveAt(2);
        }

I've been trying for a couple of days now to solve a problem, but I've reached
the conclusion that it might be impossible based on the way the Header
templated is rendered. I'd like to have a 2 row header, but where the top row
spans two columns.
Like:
-------------------------------------
       Head1   |       Head2
-------------------------------------
Col1    |Col2 |  Col1   |  Col2
-------------------------------------

Is there a way to do this??
