Hi Arijit, One possible cause could be: when the ASP.NET runtime generates
the viewstate, it also creates a hash of the entire viewstate string, and
stores this on the server. It then checks on postback to ensure that the
viewstate has not been tampered with by comparing the previously stored
viewstate hash, and the hash of the viewstate on the posted-back page . This is
an added bit of security that ASP.NET offers, and is enabled by default..
The error you describe above could possibly occur if you wrote to the hidden
viewstate field using client-side scripting- this would render in the viewstate
invalid. Are you using any javascript which could be writing to the hidden
viewstate field? hope it helps you Thanks & regards Salil
