----------------------------------------------------------- From: Senthil-Maverick Message 2 in Discussion Hi , GAC --Global Assembly Cache is used for Installing\ registering Shared assemblies. The Assemblies which you install in GAC are the compiled ones and there is no worry if you miss the source code. You can refer an assebly using Reflection. Why GAC ??---- Used for referencing assemblies on a shared fashion. GAC can handble Muleiple versions of the same Assmbley there by eliminating the DLL HELL which we all faced in VB era. You will be using GAC only when you got a shared assembly fashion. If your architecture is n-tier and distributed there are high chances that you want to go to GAC.
