Hi ,    GAC --Global Assembly Cache is used for Installing\ registering Shared 
assemblies.   The Assemblies which you install in GAC are the compiled ones and 
there is no worry if you miss the source code.   You can refer an assebly using 
Reflection.   Why GAC ??---- Used for referencing assemblies on a shared 
fashion. GAC can handble Muleiple versions of the same Assmbley there by 
eliminating the DLL HELL which we all faced in VB era.   You will be using GAC 
only when you got a shared assembly fashion.   If your architecture is n-tier 
and distributed there are high chances that you want to go to GAC.   Thanks
