----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on BDOTNET
----------------------------------------------------------- From: Senthil-Maverick Message 2 in Discussion hi dreams, we also had a similiar kind of performance problem in the past with informix. The steps which we took was : 1.Check the SQL if there are cross joins , anyother extra effort the SQL is doing to retrive the data . How much time does the sql alone takes to execute ? once if u calculate the time, does the ASP.Net alone takes much time for loading the data? 2.If ur sql is perfect and it takes the required time THEN if ASP.Net alone takes more time for loading , what u can do is , u can set a counter like u can display a max of 1500 records or so . You can query the First 1500 records from the data set and then display. And then if u user wants to see the other records they can change the selection criteria. 3. Check if ASP.Net paging can help.
