MSDN .NET 2.0/3.0 Webcasts This is a collection of selected MSDN webcasts
covering various topics under .NET 2.0 and .NET 3.0, including AJAX.NET,
Silverlight and LINQ.

Note: All webcasts requires vendor registration

ASP.NET 2.0 - Membership, Roles & Profiles
ASP.NET 2.0 introduces a new provider based model that allows developers to use
login, role management and profiles easily.

Understanding components of .NET
The .NET platform constitutes a set of blocks that manage most of the
day-to-day programming tasks for the developer for e.g. memory management. In
this session we will talk about the various components that make up the .NET
platform – JIT, NGEN, GC, BCL, CAS, GAC, <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:City
w:st="on">AppDomains</st1:City>, <st1:State
w:st="on">IL</st1:State></st1:place>, Generics, Reflection etc. We will discuss
what are their functions and how they help the developers to develop
applications faster by doing most of the mundane programming jobs for them.

AJAX Enabling your ASP.NET 2.0 Applications Tips and Tricks
This session helps you understand how you can <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place
w:st="on">AJAX</st1:place></st1:City> enable your existing ASP.NET 2.0
Applications. It details the various steps involved in getting your ASP.NET 2.0
Application AJAX enabled and provides tips and tricks on getting started
quickly with ASP.NET AJAX.

Rich Web Applications using ASP.NET <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place
w:st="on">AJAX</st1:place></st1:City> Framework
Dive deeper into the Microsoft ASP.NET 2.0 AJAX Server Extensions and
understand how to energize the UI of existing ASP.NET 2.0 web applications to
create powerful user experiences.

Exploring ASP.NET AJAX
After exploring ASP.NET AJAX Extensions and the Update Panel control, here we
start exploring the other handy controls such as Update Progress, Triggers
etc., Also, we will explore how Microsoft ASP.NET AJAX helps web developers
make network callbacks directly from client-side script code.

Advanced ASP.NET <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place
w:st="on">AJAX</st1:place></st1:City>
This session deals some of the advanced topis in ASP.NET AJAX including web
service call backs, predictive fetch patterns, paging pattern etc., and deals
with some of the internals of ASP.NET AJAX including the Update Panel
internals.

Upgrading from SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2005
SQL Server 2005 offers exciting new possibilities and opportunities but to make
use of the new features found in SQL Server 2005, companies must first upgrade
their existing database environments. This webcast contains guidance for SQL
Server administrators, developers, and IT decision makers who want to move
their SQL Server 2000 or 7.0 databases to SQL Server 2005. This webcast would
walk through the upgrade risks by providing prescriptive, best-practices
technical guidance about how to upgrade specific SQL Server features across all
editions

Introduction to .NET 3.0
NET 3.0 Elements. Application, Usage, Scenarios and Working of these elements
for building applications that have visually compelling User Experiences,
seamless communication across technology boundaries, and the ability to support
a wide range of business processes.

Overview of .NET 3.0
The Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 (formerly WinFX), is the new managed code
programming model for Windows. It combines the power of the .NET Framework 2.0
with four new technologies: Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), Windows
Communication Foundation (WCF), Windows Workflow Foundation (WF), and Windows
CardSpace (WCS, formerly "InfoCard"). Use the .NET Framework 3.0 today to build
applications that have visually compelling user experiences, seamless
communication across technology boundaries, the ability to support a wide range
of business processes, and an easier way to manage your personal information
online.

What’s New in C# 3.0
C# is one of the most popular, powerful and loved mainstream general purpose
programming languages in the world, and in its third release it gets even
better. The designers of C# have added several forward looking features to the
programming
language which open up new styles of programming hitherto available only to
some esoteric languages. These enhancements include dynamic type inference,
lambda expressions and more. If you are a C# programmer, you would not want to
miss this session.

Understanding Windows Workflow Foundation
Virtually all software supports a business process that can be specified as a
discrete series of steps known as a workflow. Windows Workflow Foundation is
the programming model, engine and tools for quickly building workflow-enabled
applications on Windows. This session is a code-focused introduction to this
new technology and shows you how to design, build and debug workflows. Learn
how to build the "hello world" of workflow-enabled applications and also how to
make the right decisions when choosing to use workflows in everyday
applications.

Exploring Windows CardSpace
Password fatigue and online fraud is a growing problem and is shaking users'
confidence in the safety and security of the Internet. CardSpace is the
codename for a new technology from Microsoft that helps address the problem of
managing and
disclosing identity information. CardSpace implements the core of the Identity
Metasystem, using open standard protocols to securely negotiate, request and
broker identity information between trusted identity providers and requestors.
In this session, learn about the rationale behind the Identity Metasystem,
CardSpace and how technologies including the Windows Communication Foundation
can help you easily integrate a secure, consistent identity infrastructure into
your own applications, Web sites and Web services.

Next Generation Applications with Windows Presentation Foundation
Understand the next generation of user interface, Windows Presentation
Foundation and learn about the WPF Everywhere (WPF/E) initiative to create
out-of-the-world user experiences.

Building Next Generation User Interface with Windows Presentation Foundation
This session makes the case that user experience matters - well-designed
applications give users a greater sense of trust in the application, improve
customer satisfaction and reduce support and training costs. We look at how to
use Windows Presentation Foundation to build attractive applications through
the use of styles and templates, how to share common design elements across
your application through the use of resources, and give a preview of the
Microsoft Expression suite of
designer-orientated tools.

Language Integrated Natural Query (LINQ) – Accessing Data the Natural Way
Data Access languages like SQL and X-Query are quite different from programming
languages like VB and C#. Also, the world of objects and the world of
relational data has what is typically referred to as an “impedance mismatch.”
The set of technologies shipping in “Orcas” try to solve this problem in a
number of ways and Language Integrated Natural Query (LINQ) is one of them. If
you write a lot of data access code, your world is about to change!

Silverlight: Light up the web!
Microsoft Silverlight, formerly known as “WPF/E”, doesn’t just have a new name.
It has a lot of new features announced at MIX 07 and you can find out about all
of these in this session. Learn how to light up the web with Silverlight.
