Hi All,
Hope the wildfire close to Boulder hasn't caused too much damage.
I was at the Ruby Hoedown in Nashville last week; it was a well-ogranized
conference, and I had a great time. There are a couple of awesome items from
this conference that I wanted to share with fellow rubyists: Jim Weirich
performed 'Has Anyone Seen My Code' - the song he wrote as part of his Why-Day
celebrations; in case you haven't seen it yet, check out this one minute video
on YouTube. Glenn Vandenburg delivered a masterful keynote to end Ruby Hoedown,
the title of his talk being ' Real Software Engineering'. It was an amazing
talk exploring the nature of software engineering, and is a must for every
software engineer. While the keynote at Ruby Hoedown wasn't recorded, GLV had
given the same talk at the Lone Star Ruby Conference the previous week; and the
video of that talk is available online. It is 52 minutes long; time spent
watching it will be an hour well spent!I have put more notes and links to talks
on my blog; do check it out if
time permits.
Finally, hope you folks took advantage of the early bird pricing which ends
today, and signed up for our very own Mountain Ruby conference!
