Hello Boulder Rubyists, I am posting a reminder that this weekend on December 8th is the global Code Retreat day. There will be a session in Boulder along with a few others along the Front Range. The Boulder session will begin at 8:30 and end at 6pm. It'll be hosted at Scrib, a co-working space located at 2060 Broadway in downtown Boulder.
If you're not familiar with a code retreat, I highly recommend you check it out. http://globalday.coderetreat.org/ There will be over 150 code retreats held around the world this weekend, which is pretty amazing to think about. This is a language-agnostic event, designed to challenge habits and celebrate the craft of software creation. Throughout the process, Mike Gehard and Nick Howard will lead pairs through several iterations of Conway's Game of Life. Pairs will choose which language they'd like to hone-- whether you'd like to practice your primary language or you'd aspire to another, you are welcome. We practice the fundamentals: TDD and the 4 rules of simple design. These are applicable regardless of language.
