Gentle Rubyists, I have a colleague who is interested in learning Ruby/Rails and is considering online or local (Denver/Boulder) training. She has extensive experience providing software engineering support for scientific/technical projects on Unix mainframes/supercomputers and is looking for a change.
Does anyone have experience with either on-line or local (Davinci, etc.) Ruby/Rails training? I'm especially interested in hearing from folks who have actually taken courses, but I'm happy to hear any informed opinions. Unfortunately my Ruby training experience is limited to a 2-hour introductory class given by Ara Howard nearly 10 years ago so I'm not much help. (It was a good class though, I'm still using Ruby!)
