Daniel, Thanks for the pointer, i was able to bitbake the 3.8 kernel (using Derekś tutorial) with the patch applied to the Angstrom / cloud9 recipe. The sound is clear and consistent! Thank you all for the help. I will continue to try to get this working on uBuntu using Robertś scripts...
