Check out the Cloud9 IDE that comes with the 'bone. You can have an I/O pin generate an interrupt and service the interrupt with JavaScript.

My goal is to be able to monitor the activity, based on the movements of birds within the cages. I would like also log "activity" individually for each cage and log this data 24/7.
