It does work. I use it on W7 enterprise 64 bit
Check on the computer that the USB driver is OK (Control Pannel->System->Device 
Manager->Network Adapters->Linux USB Ethernet/RNDIS Gadget
(check for errors and check advanced Network address)

It will help to have USB - serial cable for J1 to get direct console messages
