One important question: Do you need X11 support? If not, you can build a 3.8.13 kernel with SGX support for raw framebuffers. If you need X11 support, support is only available for the 3.2 kernel. Assuming raw framebuffer support is acceptable, you will need to jump through various hoops to make it work, basically building the TI graphics SDK with a few patches/changes. Search for SGX in this group, and refer to the TI ee-wiki and e2e support site for more details.
