Open the file drivers/spi/spidev.c and add the line:
{ .compatible = "linux,spidev" },
This line should be placed after the line:
{ .compatible = "rohm,dh2228fv" },

It's a patch file to apply to the spidev.c file. As it's only one line
you can simply just edit the file and add the line, then rebuild the file.
