Looking at your dmesg above, it looks like it "works" better then opensuse..

Either disable hdmi in /boot/uEnv.txt

cape_disable=capemgr.disable_partno=BB-BONELT-HDMI,BB-BONELT-HDMIN

or get a 3 inch usb extension cable.
