I must admit, I have often wondered if anyone will create a mains-powered supply with +5V and +3.3V output. Designers would still need the occasional 2.4 and 1.8V regulators but overall design should be simpler.
Board costs less, supply costs more - may include features like shutdown under software (shutdown -h now) Could be used with other dev boards : Arduino, Pi, etc. Add a HDD compatible connector for future expansion, or the Cubieboard which already has SATA.
